Recently, Brian Leschorn, URS Product Manager, and value-added team lead, helped solved some problems that Thad Fisco and his experienced team at Portland Kettle Works were having during the development of the Germ-Fogger™, a revolutionary new industrial grade disinfecting system. In the age of Covid-19, the PKW team developed the Germ-Fogger™ out of the need to decontaminate their own craft brewery and coffee bar. While originally intended only for sale to PKW’s clients, the Germ-Fogger™ is now slated for release to the wider market.

Leschorn, was brought in during the later design stages to help come up with a specific switch that would satisfy their team’s requirement for a motor-rated On/Off Switch. In addition, he worked up three power inlet options, with and without input line cord, and a J-Box (Value-Added option) before their team decided on an Inlet Only solution from Marinco.

Now ready for prime time, the website advances that the Germ Fogger™ is the state of art atomizing system that employs vortecular™ spray control for more consistent application of EPA approved disinfecting agents, and judging from this video, we cannot argue with that. URS: COVID-19 Response

Attention URS Customers - 

URS Electronics will implement the following steps for at least the next 2-week period (March 16-27) to minimize the spread of and exposure to the novel coronavirus COVID-19, while remaining operational:

• The office and front counter doors will be locked.

• Only URS staff will be allowed inside the building.

 
 
For URS customers with an approved A/R account:

• We will continue to accept orders by phone and email with billing to your account.

• Our plan is to continue using common carriers for all shipments.

• For emergency situations, will-call pick up can be arranged at our freight door in the back.

 
For the front counter customers:

• We will support your needs by taking order via phone & email with credit card payment.

• For items in stock, product will be shipped out immediately via UPS ground. 

• For backordered items, we will attempt to have your order shipped directly to you.  If that option is not available, the product will be shipped to URS and then will be shipped out immediately to your address.
